The Northern Virginia Regional Commission has been recognized and honored as a long-time partner with local governments in the provision of human service information and referral to Northern Virginia residents and for its leadership in bringing 2-1-1 VIRGINIA to Northern Virginia. NVRC was honored on April 12 by CrisisLink, which operates Northern Virginia’s 2-1-1 call center. News Release (Word Document)
A “Declaration of Cooperation” has been signed by the Northern Virginia Regional Commission and metropolitan regions and areas of the United States and Europe. The Declaration emanated from the first US-European Conference of Metropolitan Regional Councils, held in Alexandria, VA, April 9-12, and will support long-term cooperation between US and European regional councils on the topics of climate change and sustainable energy policies. The NOVA Senior Operations Chiefs have approved the the NOVA Elevator-Escalator Procedural Manual for 90-day review and operational implementation. The closing date for comments is June 21, 2008. The manual and comment forms are available in the training section.
