Description
The NVRC is currently recruiting qualified candidates for the half-time, regular position of Regional Planner.  This position reports directly to the NVRC Deputy Executive Director, in performing regional planning work in the areas of solid waste, native plants, bike and pedestrian safety, and military and community partnerships.  NVRC works closely with its 14 member jurisdictions in coordinating, developing and/or improving these programs in their locale.  The incumbent will assist staff in the research and development of these projects.  It will also help with implementation of programs within the organization by assisting in the preparation of reports, correspondence, maps, newsletters, website materials, databases, and grant proposals.  This incumbent will attend regional meetings, record proceedings, and write meeting summaries.  It will draft white papers, gather background information and make presentations.


Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to: 
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor Degree in planning, environmental sciences, public administration or a related filed; 
  • PLUS one year of experience in environmental planning, environmental science, planning, or public policy.  
  • A Masters degree may substitute for 1 year of the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Training in the use of Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS) software and proficiency with Adobe InDesign software.
