  • Washington Smart Growth Alliance -- A Call to Action (2007) -- This Washington Smart Growth Alliance document recognizes the Four Mile Run Restoration Project as one of several initiatives that is most 'likely to improve the quality of life in [the] metropolitan region over the next several decades.'  
  • Undergrounding of Dominion Virginia Power Transmission Lines - Technical Memorandum (2006) -- This study provides conceptual engineering, route identification, and site selection consulting services to investigate undergrounding of an existing Dominion Virginia Power transmission line at Four Mile Run.
  • Four Mile Run Watershed Feasibility Study Agreement (2004) -- This document contains the signed agreement between the USACE and the City of Alexandria and Arlington County that allows the USACE to conduct a feasibility study for the Four Mile Run Watershed.
  • Project Brochure (2004) -- This pamphlet provides an overview of the restoration project; the brochure was created for Earth Day 2004.
  • USACE Reconnaissance Study (2002) -- This report presents the results of USACE's reconnaissance study. The study focused on the following: 1) whether there is Federal interest in implementing an environmental restoration project in Four Mile Run, 2) scoping one or more project management plans related to environmental enhancements and flood protection, and 3) negotiating a 50-50 cost sharing agreement between the USACE and its non-Federal project partners in Arlington County and the City of Alexandria.
  • USEPA Grant Application (2001) -- This application seeks funding for preparing a design and engineering study for the restoration of Four Mile Run, developing a strategies and policies for management of future growth in the watershed, and undertaking a physical demonstration project of proposed environmental improvements. 
  • Potomac American Heritage River Community Partners -- Experience Four Mile Run (2001) --   This document summarizes a workshop that sought to improve coordination efforts in the Four Mile Run community, raise awareness of the environmental challenges that persist in urban watersheds, and unite the local governments that share the Four Mile Run watershed.  
  • 106th Congress, House Report (2000) -- Clause 92 of this congressional resolution appropriates $1 million to the City of Alexandria and Arlington County for the demonstration of environmental improvements to Four Mile Run. 
  • Water Resources Development Act -- Section 84 (1974) -- This resolution modifies the 1970 resolution that established the Four Mile Run Flood Control Project. 
  • Water Resources Development Act -- Northeastern United States Water Supply (1965) -- This law authorizes the USACE to cooperate with Federal, State and local agencies to prepare plans in accordance with the Water Resources Planning Act to meet the long-range water needs of the northeastern U.S.
