NVRC’s Coastal and Chesapeake Bay Program is funded in part by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality’s Coastal Zone Management Program.

The program serves as a technical resource to local governments on coastal and Chesapeake Bay-related issues and regulations.

In addition, through this program, NVRC publishes an annual newsletter, the NVironment, conducts special projects, and hosts technical workshops between State and local officials on coastal and Chesapeake Bay issues.
