Free Rain Garden Workshop - Saturday, June 22

Rain Garden Workshop Photo

Rain gardens, also known as bio-retention areas, are attractive landscape features that reduce runoff by allowing rain water to infiltrate into the ground. Mulch and plants intercept water running off streets, driveways, and rooftops, slowing flow and re-moving pollutants before the water reaches local streams, the Occoquan and Potomac Rivers, drinking water supplies for the region. Come to this FREE workshop to learn about designing and planting a rain garden at your home! Register 703-792-7747

The event will be held from 10 to 12 Noon at the Jeff Simpson community and Cultural Arts Center, 17757 Main Street, Dumfries, VA 22026 (map).
